Vinh Moc Tunnel (Vịnh Mốc tunnels) Historical landmark in Vietnam


Vinh Moc Tunnel located about 65 km north of Hue, this is an underground tunnel where the entire village lives for many years to take refuge. The bombing continued during the Vietnam War. Although most people migrate to other parts of the country, there are more than 300 villagers who have lived in the tunnel for more than five years from 1966 to 1971. Within this tunnel network is more than 2,000 meters.

There are 3 floors with 13 entrances. Left and right The first floor featured prominently in the room where 17 babies were born and the second was used during the war. Then there is a path down to the third floor of the tunnel, which is quite steep, should be careful. The Vinh Mok tunnel can be visited all year round. Only in the rainy season may be difficult to travel a bit. The torch should be taken with you because the tunnel inside the tunnel is quite dark.
