Kali Bari Temple Shimla

Kali Bari Temple Shimla (Goddess Kali) has many forms. The temple open from
6:00 AM – 7:00 PM (All Days). One of them is the fearsome reincarnation of her, Shyamala. It is this form only which has given Shimla its name. Considering such significance, the popular hill station of Shimla boasts of its well deserved temple of Goddess Kali in the Jakhu hills. Dedicated to Shyamala, Kalibari temple is a well known religious place in India and should never be missed at any circumstances on a Shimla tour.

Being brought to its original location by the British, Kali Bari temple is believed to be built in the first half of the 18th century.For the pilgrims to worship, the temple complex houses a wooden image of Goddess Kali in the form of Shyamala. The sight of the heavy influx of devotees in the Kali Bari temple is certainly divine. Auspicious occasions like Navaratri and Durga Puja serve as the best time to visit.
