Banjhakri Falls Gangtok in Sikkim, India

Banjhakri Falls Gangtok is one of the most visited tourist spots in Gangtok.  Set at a distance of 4 km from the town, the attraction is best known to offer breathtaking sights and a pleasant ambience. Plunging from a height of 70 ft, Banjhakri Falls promise a day filled with nature, excitement and tranquility. The lush green surroundings of the waterfalls make it more beautiful and alluring. There is a well-maintained park built near the falls, Ban Jhakri Falls Energy Park.

It is believed that the ethnic tribes of Sikkim had a lot of faith in people called Jhakris who had healing and magical powers. They were believed to have powers to influence the spirits to bring about good and evil. There are a number of sculptures of the Jhakris in the park.

The star attraction of the place is the foot bridge built over the water stream and a dragon splash which adds to the excitement and fun. Banjhakri Falls is located near the famous Ranka Monastery. So, you can also pay a visit to the monastery on your visit to the falls.

The place is perfect for enjoying a walk and spending some time amid tranquility with friends and family. The best time to visit the falls is between the month of October and February.
