India Gate Monument in New Delhi, India. India Gate is a memorial to the brave soldiers killed in action during World War I and the Afghan War. This is a symbol of New Delhi. The arch has the same architecture as the arches of Paris and Vientiane. The height of 42 meters, built from sandstone in 1931 on the surface of the arch, will appear the name of the dead soldiers were carved. The torch appears at the bottom of the arch, where the fire never warms up to commemorate the death of the Indian-Pakistani war. In 1971, there were guards at the gate to prevent sabotage.
